It's always fun until someone loses an eye

Jim Treacher has had enough of blogfeuds and comment trolls.

Having just had a similar experience with the jackanapes of the internet... Well, let me say it ain't fun.

The Libertarian utopian fantasy is that if we could all just communicate, everything would be all peachy and we'd live in some Libertarian free market love fest of ideas. But like all Libertarian utopias, it just descends into despotism and roving bands of warlords. Heathers on crack.

Blogdom is the Somalia of the web.

Nice, the comments are working!

It is an excellent word. Sounds enough like Jackal to give an even better impression :)

"Heathers on crack"--you aren't saying all those comment trolls are Ann Coulter in disguise, are you?

If so, maybe that explains things a bit.

Actually, the commenters were definitely of a right wing bent. Most of the nasty emails didn't express any political opinion, only commented on whether or not I was the biggest loser on the planet (or at least that's the shorter, cleaner version). The threatening one's combined both varieties (political and loserhood).

I think Ann Coulter is already in disguise. I keep fearing that someday I'm going to be watching her on some talk show and she's going to suddenly reach below her chin and remove the human mask and I'm going to find myself in some H.P. Lovecraft remake. I imagine she has a very insect like face. Could be wrong and it's like the rotting dead thing from the Angel series.

In any event, I'm living in fear of seeing her true face revealed.
