My, the press seems a might bit persnickety. The republicans are really on the defensive. Considering all the nasty, ugly crap going on at the moment - lackluster job growth, looming deficit, Iraq, Afghanistan, an Israeli mole, Plame, SVBFT and the ever looming protests - it seems all they can do to keep their heads above water.
It's really hard to see how they're going to come out of this with a net positive. The best they can hope for is that they hold onto their base and pray that the bad news stops.
