Test your perceptions

Be sure to put your tin foil hat on for this. Serious fun for all the family!

As everyone knows, on 11 September, less than an hour after the attack on the World Trade Centre, an airplane collided with the Pentagon. The Associated Press first reported that a booby-trapped truck had caused the explosion. The Pentagon quickly denied this. The official US government version of events still holds. Here's a little game for you: Take a look at these photographs and try to find evidence to corroborate the official version. It's up to you to Hunt the Boeing!

Well that's damn interesting all right. So 4 aircraft were hijacked, right?

I seem to recall eyewitness accounts of the plane flying around over DC. Seem to recall that seemed maybe the plane was trying to find or line up on a target, maybe not the Pentagram. Folks said it was losing speed & altitude plus getting dangerously close to stalling and speculatively hit that building as the only target the pilot's bungling left accessible.

Speed might have been well below landing speed, I guess. Cut engines and raise the nose, sort of belly-flop and slide into the building. Not the sort of perfect kamikaze dive you'd want to make, but I gather that's actually rather difficult for a novice pilot of an airliner.

I guess you might spread sand over jet fuel spilled on the lawn, though I'd think you'd eventually want to dig up all the contaminated soil.(Of course thinking like a Bushite, you might just turn it into a playground for children of Military personnel as-is)

AFAIK you'd expect to find the tail section and engines after almost any sort of crash. I agree its odd early photos don't show the tail parked in or just short of the damaged building.

Pretty darn odd.

One of my oldest and closest friends was driving past the Pentagon to her job in D.C. the morning of the attacks. She was listening to the news from New York and saw a plane passing over the highway in front of her dive into the ground just short of the Pentagon and explode. We were lucky it hit the ground and not the side of the building, otherwise the damage and loss of life would have been even greater. She still dreams about the fireball. Airliners coming in for a landing at National still startle her, especially if they're American Airlines.

Time to take off the tinfoil hats.

Nice to have confirmation of reality. Many thanks.

Tinfoil hats? Have you been looking at these pictures or not? A plane crashed into the ground just short of the Pentagon...? What are you talking about?! There are no markings on the soil ANYWHERE in ANY PHOTO in front of the alleged crash site.

I'll take off my tinfoil hat if you turn on your brain.
